  Creating an XSLT Rendering
Prev Next

XSL Renderings are created by copying the boilerplate code from /sitecore/shell/templates/xsl.xslt – changes made to this file will appear in all new XSL Renderings. Modifying this boilerplate can be convenient for declaring common namespaces, removing redundant comments, including XSL template libraries, etc.

To create an XSL Rendering:

  1. Select File » New from the DeveloperCenter menu.
Select the Renderings folder and XSLT File template.
    /upload/sdn5/developer/developer center/common_tasks2.png
  2. The Create XSLT File wizard will guide you through the rest of the creation process:
Step 1. Enter the name for the new rendering. This name will be used for both the Sitecore Item and the .xslt file on disk.
Step 2. Choose a location in the Sitecore database.
Step 3. Choose an .xslt file location.
